Only use a lubricant that meets the compressor manufacturer’s requirements. Automotive engine oils and general hydraulic fluids may not provide the oxidation resistance, deposit control, air release, and operating life required by an industrial compressor.
Compressor oils are commonly formulated with one of three primary synthetic base-fluid chemistries: PAO, PAG, or ester. Some formulations are compatible for topping off, while others should never be mixed. Contact us with your compressor model and current lubricant information if you need help finding a top-off-compatible formulation.
Follow the compressor and lubricant manufacturer’s recommended interval. Fluid life varies according to formulation, operating temperature, environmental conditions, run hours, contamination, and maintenance practices.
Food-grade lubricants are commonly used in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and other sensitive manufacturing environments where incidental product contact could occur. Confirm the facility’s requirements and required certifications before selecting a lubricant.
